Start here: how this shirt is cut
Our shirts are Comfort Colors® 1717 blanks. They are cut as relaxed unisex garments — not a men's fit, not a women's fit, and not a modern slim tee. They run generously through the chest and shoulders and sit a little longer in the body.
Two rules that solve most sizing problems:
- Want your usual roomy tee? Order your usual size.
- Want it closer to the body? Order one size down.
If you are between sizes and want a boxy, tucked-or-untucked look, size up. If you are between sizes and want a fitted look, size down.
Measure a shirt you already own
This is more reliable than measuring your body. Take a t-shirt that fits you the way you want this one to fit, lay it flat on a table, smooth out the wrinkles, and measure in inches:
- Chest width. Measure straight across the shirt from one underarm seam to the other. Do not double it — that flat measurement is what the chart below uses.
- Body length. Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the bottom hem.
Then find the row in the chart whose numbers are closest to yours.
Measurements
These are the blank manufacturer's published measurements, in inches, for a garment laid flat. Cut-and-sew production carries a tolerance of roughly one inch either way.
| Size | Chest width (flat) | Body length |
|---|---|---|
| S | 18" | 28" |
| M | 20" | 29" |
| L | 22" | 30" |
| XL | 24" | 31" |
| 2XL | 26" | 32" |
| 3XL | 28" | 33" |
| 4XL | 30" | 34" |
Which sizes are actually available
Because every shirt is printed to order rather than stocked, the size range differs by design and by color. The product page is always the authority — select a color and the available sizes will show.
| Design | Colors | Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Home Family Love Vintage Crest | Black and white | S through 4XL |
| Home Family Love Vintage Crest | The other thirteen dye colors | A narrower range — check the product page |
| All other designs | White | L, 2XL, 3XL |
Shrinkage
The cotton is pre-shrunk, so washing cold and tumble drying low should cause very little change. Hot water and a hot dryer will shrink any 100% cotton shirt, and that is not covered as a defect. Full care instructions are on every product page.
Still not sure?
